We aim to make fresh produce accessible to all families in our community.
About
Halfway Community Supplies will cultivate fresh produce on our community plot to provide free food packages to local families in need. We will also offer produce at reduced prices to those able to contribute. In addition to our own harvests, we will purchase surplus produce from nearby farms to supplement our food bank. By working directly with local farmers, we aim to reduce food waste, support the local economy, and ensure a consistent supply of fresh, affordable food for our community. Our food packages will be delivered directly to those most in need.
Community Education and Empowerment

Targeted Food Assistance
Benefit: Our weekly food parcels will provide essential sustenance to vulnerable residents, addressing food insecurity and preventing malnutrition.
Impact: Reducing food poverty will improve the physical and mental health of beneficiaries, enabling them to focus on other aspects of their lives.
Expanding Food Choices
Benefit: By increasing the availability of fresh, local produce, we will improve the diet and health of the community.

Long-term goals: Outline your vision for the future, such as expanding services or replicating the model in other areas.
Community Education and Empowerment
Raise awareness of the benefits of growing food locally.
Showing the local community that their food can come directly from local farmers. It removes a lot of waste from ‘ugly’ vegetables and removes the several steps in the distribution, keeping costs for everyone down.
Provide training on food production, growing cycles, and balanced diets.
Running community workshops we can educate and train people how to create their own gardens and the nutritional benefits of healthy local food.
Share local knowledge and resources for successful gardening.
Along with our volunteers and alongside our workshops we can offer in school training and community garden market stands
Targeted Food Assistance
Deliver weekly food parcels to vulnerable residents experiencing food insecurity.
The local community at highest risk of poor nutrition and financial hardship will be given free food parcels, grown on our own community plot, or provided by local farmers at reduced costs. Local residents who also follow our food training and over-produce will be encouraged to contribute you our community food bank.
Prioritise fresh, locally sourced produce in food parcels where possible.
Try to remove the class divide that is found in fresh produce and make a connection with the farmers, local nurseries and residents.
Expanding Food Choices:
Increase the availability and variety of healthy food options in the community.
Helping the residents increase their fresh food intake and work towards and beyond the The World Health Organization and the Department of Health’s 5 a day.
Partner with local producers to source high-quality, nutritious food.
Providing free, or discounted food that has a higher nutritional value than the ultra processed foods that are becoming normalised.
Community Food Sharing:
Redistribute surplus produce and donated food to those in need.
Through growing, gifting and sharing, we will bring the community together enabling local growers to let us collect their surplus food and package and distribute to those at most in need
Organise food drives and community events to encourage sharing and connection.
Halfway Community Supplies will try to represent itself at the local community events, schools and shops to help develop a community network of growers, packagers and distribution people. Volunteers will be utilised to help in all steps of the process to bring the community together with a goal that healthy, fresh food should be available to everyone, not just the elite.
